Trailer for "Winds. Roads" by Ekaterina Anchevskaya

Winds. Roads is a personal journey to Buryatya, Siberia, based on the memories of the director’s grandfather, engineer of the Baikalo-Amurskaya Railway.

In 1976, several industrial settlements were built in taiga forests to provide the railway workers with housing. One of the villages is hidden between mountain rages and can only be reached through a 15 km railway tunnel. Some of the workers still live there with their families, surrounded by a picturesque landscape, but struggling to maintain living conditions in continental subarctic climate.

This film connects the past and the present, revealing the railway workers' intimate stories and exploring the mesmerising nature of Siberia.
